No matter how much you try to avoid it, you will one day be ultimately faced with a delayed delivery from your supplier. It is inevitable, however how you handle the delay is what we will guide you with today.      

1. Communicate

First and foremost try to remain calm, your restaurant will survive whether or not you receive your order. 

Reach out to your go-to contact person and understand the issue from their side. Understand the root cause and how likely it is to occur in the future. 

2. Be kind

No one is perfect and errors are bound to happen. So be kind to your supplier. Kindness will most likely result in them delivering the items but later than scheduled or expected. 

3. Check-in and regular follow ups

Have regular check-ins with your suppliers to avoid similar occurrences in the future. Set clear expectations and guidelines and make sure to build a strong relationship. Have regular business reviews with them and assess their performance over time.
